[cool] I have found that for the anglers that love to fish without the added bagage or expence of towing a boat or trecking miles off the beaten path's, is to try live bait fishing the tail waters of your favorite or local lakes. Especially in the Fall when the fish are putting on the fat for winter. In most cases the spillways and banks are drive up accessable and offer exstreamley big fish to the blue collar angler. Not every fishing expaddition is fool proof but i have to say that of the last ten trips of tail water fishing has only left me skunked one time. Last weekend I caught and released one 22l/b striper hybrid. And the weekend before then i released 1 20l/b blue cat and 1 37l/b flathead cat. Not counting the one night i got skunked from prier weeks before i could say i caught numerous catfish, both blue and flatheadcats from 5,10 to45 l/bs. Well only 2 came in at over 40l/bs here in the last couple of months. Im sure i can break that streak in the next couple of weeks,'by the way fishing these areas have been picking up. I use a simple Carolina riggin and bait it with either a live gold fish or either live or atleast fresh shad from 2'' to 4'' long. Then just set back with your bait runner set and wait for big monster fish to peel your line while relaxing. I grew up on the SANJOAQUIN river delta in northern CA. and concider myself very knowledgable at salmon, striper and sturgion fishing. But I've been living and fishing NorthEastern OKLA, area lakes and rivers for the past 9 years and I would have benefitted from a resourse forum like we share here, so i hope this will inspire some one to give it a try and plaese remember our anglers of tomorrow and take a child fishin
