Made it down to fish the Jackpot area the last couple of days. Left the boat at home due to the weather forecast and just bank yanked. Had a great time and caught some real nice trout. Avery caught all the biggest ones with one going 25" and 5 lbs plus. Keep 11 fish each day. The smoker will be busy tomorrow. PM me if you want the details.
Those are some nice fish!
Did you ride the new bike down?

Which access did you fish at? Nice fish!

No we skipped the bike due to the rain and cold. And I should say a word of warning about the wet muddy roads around the area. Be wise and respect them or you'll be stuck and walking out. We didn't dare go into the spot today that we were at yesterday due to the rain. The back up plan worked out fine but sure wish we could have gone back to the first hole.

Looks like a great time. Nice fish! i went down that direction lst Friday, but when i got to Rogerson there was a major windstorm/snowstorm and the show was blowing horizontally across the road. i could not see the gas station from the road. Saturday it was too cold in the a.m. and i had to get back to town. Which end did you fish? Would it be okay to take a boat there this weekend? Thanks for your time.

Yeah the weather sucked but thats spring in the high desert. We never seen any ice at all on SFCR. Funny thing - the guy at the gas station in Rogerson told us it was still froze solid and would be for another month.
that answer might keep a few people away from his favorite fishing hole Smile
Thanks for the info.....long drive from Kuna, but can't beat a day of fishing and taking the boat out for the first time.

Nice job dude! Avery is the bomb. The fishing stories he will tell when he is an old man will be epic.

Thanks Bro! He fought that monster like a pro. We didn't take a net and only 6lbs test so Avery had to really play it. After about 2 minutes and we realized what he had the wife started a video but she ran out of batteries before it was landed. It was a good 10 min fight and it almost spooled him like 6 times. What's amazing is how calm I stayed the whole time.[bobWink]
Great pics and fish glad you guys had a good time [cool]

Fantastic job to you both. Can't beat a day like that. Ron

Believe it or not but we did catch two bull trout but that was it. Tried crappie jigs with a slip bobber off the rocky points but didn't have any luck finding anything.
Went today, late start, wife said...lets take the dog!
Well, that is an adventure on it's own. 190lb mastiff.
Needless to say it was a great day out and weather was nice except when the occasional gust of wind came up. wife only caught 1 small bull trout and we released it. I got skunked, unless you call catching the bottom many times not getting skunked. Thanks for the info, hope you and avery keep on your Adventures.
Did not get to the water till about 11:30, left at 4:00
i saw many others fishing from the bank, our spot was not ideal...lots of rocks. all in all good day. i should have taken the pontoon.
