Fished two an a half hours at Sand Hollow. Between my dad and myself we caught 6 largies and 1 crappie. Bass were 14-18" and the crappie was 14", biggest crappie I've ever seen. Water temps 53-56.
Wow nice fish. Heard of Crappie in there but have not caught one out of there yet. Nice Job. Sounds like the fishing is starting to pick up. Any bass starting to make there way to the shallows making beds?

I will be Eastering down there next week, and we plan on going to Sand Hollow so my nieces can build sand castles. Last year I caught a nice LMB in the shallows using the good ol' Mepps #2 silver spinner. There were dozens of them hiding in the submerged shrubbery on the south side. I waded out and was seeing action for the few hours we were there. It was a blast. I would like to try dropping a worm below a bobber in those areas to see if I can get anything to bite.

Went back out today, 7-5. Between three of us managed 7. All caught in 20-30ft in the red rocks. We fished all over and found some guys by the dam who SAID they were catching them on rapalas against the bank...? All largies 12-16". 3" gulp drop shot and 7" Carolina rigged worm. Another guy at the ramp said a 3" white Texas rigged grub was the ticket.
I wouldn't doubt it. With several warm days in a row like we've had, a suspending jerkbait fished along a steep, rocky bank can be deadly.

Water temps were up 57-60* this AM before we headed home. Put another 6 in the boat and one that broke off. All on drop shots or carolina rigged worms in 30ft-ish of water.
