also you need to check your pike rules there are variious size limits for pike depending on where they are caught. There are slot limits for some places while others have no size limit at all

Sounds like Michigan is getting as bad as up here in Washington state. Here it's pretty bad and you really have to watch it. They have areas or rivers you can fish all the time, some only on certain days, others are close all the time, some are open only for certain species on certain days etc. In the puget sound it's about the same way. we do have a little of that here, cirtian areas where you can target stergeon, designated trout streams have thier own seasons.

It is tricky these days, so one dose have to take care befor pulling up to a fishing hole.
