Needless to say, steelhead fishing leaves you with a lot of time on your hand to think. This last time out I had just come down from the car with a sandwich in my hands, sat down and my buddy tosses out his bobber out in front of me. He tightens up the slack and proceeds to turn his head and talk to the guy next to him. Down goes the bobber. With mouth full of sandwich I yell to the best of my ability, JERK MIKE JERK. And he did hooking the fish. I swear this guy hooks more fish when he not looking.
Got me to thinking thought that there are statistics in sport for everything. Especially for fantasy sports. Why couldn't we make up our on sort of statistics to make the fishing trips look better and provide you with data to decide who you invite for the next time. So here are a few of my ideas.
1. 2 points for fish caught and landed.
2. 1 point for an assist.
Example....Yelling out to buddy that he is getting a bite
Netting other peoples fish.
Chipping in for gas,food,lodging.
3. Minus point for minutes in the penalty box.
Example....Overly foul and abusive speech.
Littering, whether in your auto or on lands.
Eating all your skoobie snacks and drinking all your beer bringing and not bringing some of their own.
4. 1 point for rebounds.
Example....Rebounding back with a strong attitute after popping fish off right at the net.
Rebounding back after oversleeping and not getting to fishing hole on time.
5. 1 point for being the X FACTOR
Example....Having a positive attitude.
Being that guy that knows a buddy is on hard times and Does pick up gas, lodging, or food and gets friend out of house.
Stops fishing to help the kids get their line untangled every five minutes.
I'm thinking we could input our buddy's names into this Application and it will rank our friends #1 on down and it can help us to decide who we invite on our next trip or who not to invite.
What categories do you think that we could also include?
All in jest of course.
Yet.......I've seen people make money on funkier ideas!
