I'm just curious what have you member caught Utah Suckers on because today I found a nice hole with loads of them and want to give it a try. Tossed my whole fly box at them literally and not a single nibble !!![:/]
As well for what I don't know if I just magically was lucky hooking in a big carp with a woolly bugger or what but whats good for carp as well. Might find some carp and see if I can catch another off a woolly bugger.[crazy]

You are talking Utah suckers and not June suckers as in the title. I've caught Utah Suckers on nymphs fished deep in that big hole several hundred yards below Taggart's and the railroad bridge while targeting trout. What did you try? I think the last ones where on smaller prince nymphs ( 12-14 which is small for what I fish). Those suckers were all mid 20 inch range. I'd scale it down further if the ones you're after are smaller. By the way why are you targeting Utah Suckers? I think they dropped keeping a state record for them as not many would submit a claim to have Biggest Utah Sucker linked to their name.

Did you try FlyGoddess's soft hackle glo bugs? There killer! I've caught quite a few carp on orange ones lately.

She only gave me a few yellow ones but I used them a few times till all the fabric fell apart and never really had a great chance to try them.

Sorry about that. I mean utah suckers. I don't care about the state record, just want to catch one on a fly rod. Ya most that I've caught were 18-25"
Thanks for the info
