I usually start my ice season with a Christmas break trip to Jackson lake. Because of the arrival of my newest fishing buddy on December 18, my Jackson trip became my ice season closer. The fishing was slow, slow, but it doesn't matter on that lake. The scenery more than made up for the poor fishing. I snapped a few pics of the Tetons, didn't think to take any pics of the few skinny lakers we caught. Had great company as well. I'm already looking forward to next year, but I definetly have some business on the soft water first.

I also added a new fishing buddy on 12-12-12. I only made a few short trips. But its going to start getting fun teaching the kids the ways of the fisherman. I have already started on my daughter shes 3 1/2 and already likes to fish. She has a bunch of white bass under her belt already. Looking forward to catching some cats on the Barbie pole.

Kids are great. The wife used to give me grief for fishing. Now she thinks I'm the best dad around cause I take the older two with me. My five year old daughter caught her first walleye Wednesday night(with dads help), but still maintains that white bass fishing is her favorite. I took my two year old son down on my in-laws irrigation ditch Saturday and let him reel in a few cuts. He was more interested in the geese honking at us though. Our excursion was cut short by a blizzard. By the time I made it the 1000 yards back to the ranch house his lips were turning blue. He can't wait to go fishing again.
