Fished the Weber today. It's still fishing very well. Lots of 15" and bigger browns. I hooked a very nice fish that I think would have went at least 20". I fought him for about 5 minutes, and got a couple really good looks at him. So I wasn't too disappointed when he threw my little gray sow bug. I hate it when the big ones snap you off the second you hook em. At least I got to see this one.

What size tippet you using? I don't go smaller than 4X on nymphs, dries 6X

you would be ok with 5 on the dries right now, picked up a few on midges yesterday around the weber, water had good clarity, not crystal clear, but enough of a tint to dial up the tippet.

I like that. I meant 6x is a s small as I would go. Tie flies on with a loop and I can up the size and still keep movement. Plus 6X is about as large as I can go on #32[

Where did the fish break you off? Was it at a knot or the tippet? On the Webe there are enough big fish and the water is never crystal clear that heaver line is worth using. Wouldn't be afraid to use 3 or 4 x subsurface if breakoffs are an issue. Even 26 inch trout don't just snap that thicker stuff.

I was using 4x, so he didn't break the line. He just came off. His take was so suttle I think I may have been a little slow on the hook set. But like I said he was on for a good five minutes, he jumped a couple times to, so he worked pretty hard to get off. Lots of fun anyway.
