I'm taking my boat out this Saturday to make sure it's up and running well. Then it's off to Powell. Anything I need to know now that they've found mussels at Powell? Will I have to have my boat deconed prior to launching at Powell since my boat won't have had enough time to dry from our UL trip this Saturday?

Also, are there good camping spots up lone rock by wahweap?

Plan to have your boat Decon-ed... I'm not familiar with the facilities by Wahweep, but at Bullfrog they do it right there.

Have any compartment that gets wet or stores wet rope easily accessible and it will save you a lot of time.

At this point, they still consider Lake Powell non-infested and if anything they are going to be more vigilant now, not less.

Just returned from Wahweap on Saturday.

Since UL is not on the list, you probably will not have any problems. I had my boat on Minersville on Saturday the 30th, then headed to Powell on April 6 (7 days). I told them where the boat had been. They looked at the boat, checked the livewells and told me to go launch. No problems at all.

Just make sure you clean your boat up after testing it out on UL, and you shouldn't have an issue.

After you are done on Powell -- you just need to clean, drain, and dry your boat.

The "new" rules at Powell simply state that your boat must be decontaminated after using it at Powell. There are two ways to accomplish this:

1. Clean, drain, dry. (remember the mandatory drying period)
or
2. Professional cleaning.
