Bear Lake Conditions & Fishing Report:
The strong winds earlier this week blew the ice off the lake and it is now open water. However, there is still a considerable amount of floating ice on the surface and it is piled up along the east shoreline. Boats can be launched at the Utah State Park marina but all other ramps are inaccessible due to ice along the shoreline. The Bear Lake valley received about a foot of new snow this week too, but the roads are clear and the marina ramp has been plowed. There is no fishing report since anglers have not been able to access to the lake the last few weeks. Cutthroat trout should be biting and anglers should target them in depths of 45'-95' while trolling or jigging off the Gus Rich Point, 2nd Point, and Cisco Beach areas. Try rapalas and flatfish while trolling and jigs tipped with cisco when jigging.
