Just got back from a second great trip to lower LP. Put in Fri afternoon at Wahweap and got out about 2:00. Down to dam pool and fishing was all that they said and similar to our last trip at the end of Mar. Lots and lots of stripers all over the dam area. We wound up catching 98 in two days plus one 23" walleye that must have gotten lost.

We tried our hand at fishing for walleye on Sat in the back of LR, but no dice! We drift fished for stripers with pieces of anchovy and could have caught many more. Limited ourselves to the amount we wanted to clean as we had to clean them on the boat. The fish cleaning station was broken (is now repaired and back up again).

Got very tired from all the fish catching (I'm old) so we decided to troll with some Pro-Trol bait holders behind a 30' jet diver modified with a release. Thought I could get to sit down for a while, but trolling worked even better than the drift fishing and I never did get to sit much. Found a 30' submerged ledge and triples were the rule of the day every time we would get over the ledge. Managed to find our lone walleye there (actually I didn't think there were any walleye down near the dam).

There was a high wind forecast nearly every day that kept us from going back in to Navajo and Last Chance. Loved the fishing and looking forward to going over to the Gorge now.
