Since the birth of my second my second child a few weeks ago, I'm finding my fishing time has been reduced to nearly zero. I've resorted to fishing city ponds and rivers for 20 stolen minutes here and there whenever possible.

The other day after work I fished the Jordan for about 15 minutes and managed to catch this walleye. My scale wasn't working but I used my pole for in the picture for a length reference and later determined that it was 18 - 20 inches long & I estimate somewhere around 5 lbs.

That's the biggest walleye I've ever caught! Out of the Jordan River no less. It was caught on a Texas-rigged Mt. Nebo grub jig. And for the record, it's still out there to fight another day. Smile

Thanks Curt. Sorry to hear about the mess you guys have up there. Hoping to get up there sometime this summer once they get it cleaned up. Maybe we can go chase wipers again sometime.

Wow, nice outta the jordan! That thing doesn't look a mere 20in though, seems waaay bigger like 25 to 27 inches even. Looks at least 6 to 8 lbs range. Been catching a lot of walleye this year so been looking at them every few days for almost two months now so I can tell a big eye when I see one. Good job! Dare you to eat that sucker hahaha. It has more color than utah lake eyes lol.

Nice fish....but your estimate of its weight (assuming that your estimated length is correct) is a bit off. An 18-20 inch walleye will weigh between 2-3 pounds. Judging from your pics, you have caught a very healthy fish, so you might assume that he is a little over 3 pounds (again assuming that your estimated length is correct). Nevertheless, nice fish!
