My cousin Greg was in town from Idaho, he had his buddy Dave from GA with him, and they LOVE to fish. After 2 hours of catching up and swapping fish pictures, stories, and me bragging about the Chick, I talked them into riding over to the lake. They walked out on the dock and took some pictures while I started fishing a football jig. 5 mins there and set the hook on a 2#...now the pressure is off, caught one thats all the mattered. Few mins later another one about 1.5#. Now they are itching to fish.....I rig them up some rods and head back down to the water. I let Greg fish the area where I caught the 2 and moved down the bank, I told him "there are some rocks at this end". I make my cast and start walking down the bank, not really paying attention.....if felt something picked up the rod tip......hung.....dang it.........wait my line is running out, set the hook and holy $&*%. I have never had a bass pull drag like this before, I knew it was gonna be special. I started yelling at them, "monster" "monster". It rolled at the top and I saw its side and about crapped my pants. It made a few runs, and im praying that I can keep it down and not throw the hook. It finally jumped and my heart stopped, by this time, they were down there, and were witnessing the fight of my life. I get it to the bank and Greg grabs it, all I can do is yell. Left him there holding my rod and fish running back to my truck to get my scale or some type of stringer, neither of which I had with me. Oh well I go back and get some pictures with the fish, I wade out into the cold water, revive her and watch her swim off. This was the biggest bass I have ever caught, and ever seen in person. I have no doubt the fish was over 10# how much I will never know. Strike king 1/2oz football jig, green pumpkin w/black-blue flake Rage Craw. Caught 3 fish, have a club tourney tomorrow and will no doubt blank, but did get the biggest bass of my life!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a day for me, still shaking.
