Fresh Water Fishing Report for:
Delaware Lakes and Ponds
Updated: November 19, 2003. Killens Pond, Dover, De S&K visited Killens Pond in Dover yesterday, and found some hot action in the clear, black, 43 degree water. We arrived at the lake at 8:00 am, and started fishing the sand point located by the boat rentals, with a Spro Jerkbait and a Terminator Night Bait slow rolled in the area. We picked up 2 small bass of about 1 1/2 pounds on the jerkbait, and one Chain Pickerel, that went 3 pounds. We moved up the lake to the wooded area after the docks, and picked up another bass of 2 pounds, and another chain pickerel that pushed 4 pounds. We proceeded up the lake to the island, and it was now 11:30 am. We worked the deeper dropoffs by the main channel, and took 3 bass that went 2 1/2 pounds on 5 inch live shiners, set at 3 1/2 feet, with a small peice of split shot above the bait. We stayed in this area until leaving at 2:00 PM, and picked up another Chain Pickerel that went 5 pounds, and a largemouth that pushed 5 pounds, all on live shiners. The bass was full of food, and was very healthy looking. Photos of the trip will appear on our website on Tuesday of next week.
