I will be traveling to Idaho Falls in June and would like to fly fish. I've heard often that if I want to go after big trout, I need to find a drift boat, which means a guide. Problem is, the rates I am seeing are too high for me.

Does anyone have suggestions on where I can fish for trout, preferably by wading without having to spend hundreds of dollars? I wouldn't mind hooking up with a guide for $200, but, I don't see those kinds of rates. I don't mind winging it on my own if you all could give me some advice on where to go.

Many thanks!

You can wade the Teton fairly easily either around Tetonia or you can head over to Felt and fish the Teton, or B*tch Creek (which is fun just because you can tell people about it). I don't know what the water levels will be like in June.

Others should have some suggestions for closer to IF.

I would fish the Henry's Fork. and its not that much further then the Teton.

I would say Henry's Fork or Warm R. I am guessing that in the first part of June the Teton and B---- Creek might be in run off still.

I think early June all of our Rivers will be blown out. late June they should be clearing up. Some of the creeks that feed PaliSades will have big trout from the reservoir if they are not too high to fish.
