Im heading to Black Smith Canyon this weekend and was wondering if any one has been up there fishing the river recently. Were going to be about thirty minutes of the river. I have never fished black smith river. I would like to do some fly fishing up there but any suggestions would help. Thank you!

Do you mean Blacksmith Fork - up from Hyrum? Or a different Blacksmith canyon?

There's a quite a few browns, some cutts, and whitefish up the way. You'd probably do better to ask what flies on the fly board. BWO. Midges and nymphs I'd think.

Spinners and jigs - curly or marabou - would probably do well. I've been messing with Browns lower down - along the Logan, and they're frisky. That much I can say.
Yeah the Blacksmith fork by hyrum. Yeah I actually did put up another post for flyfishing, im new to the site. Thanks for the suggestions though. I got some black and olive zebra midges all probably try out. Any colors in perticular?
