The weather keeps turning sour, but only on my days off. With yesterday being so nice, but today cooler and cloudy, would I be wasting my time shore fishing for catfish and panfish at UL?

Seems like I never do well there if there's any wind, except in the heat of summer, and my cooler weather-loving fish skills are marginal (can't catch walleye).

But I haven't caught a fish since early Feb, next 3 days are committed, and I'm thinking about going after work.

Tips or ideas?

[cool][#0000FF]Fishing is usually best a few days after the last front has gone through...and with calm weather. But if you fish somewhere along the north shore (AFBH) in a spot protected from the north wind you may find some fish.

Best time to go fishing is whenever you can.

Good luck.

Oh, yeah, agreed. Just hate wasting it, if I can only afford a couple trips a month, spend the cash and can't go monday, and Monday is, like, PERFECT, then I get disgusted with myself.

Think I'll try mouth of Battle Creek or AFBH.

The wind has switched around a bit, anyway. Maybe Pelican side, again.

Walleye run is completely over at this point, not likely to bother them again til next march. That water is no longer cold! It's on for all the warm water fish now. There is a ton of pressure at the state park, I wouldn't go there for sure.

The worst day fishing beats the best day working! =)

But I know what you mean when you miss a good day by choosing a bad one. I work out in the field for my summers so if it's crappy out, I get the day off, but then I can't fish. It's bummer. I hope you get a nice sunny day full of fishes!

Cheers.
