So when it comes to catfish I feel absolutely inadequate. I cant seem to find a good spot a good set up a good anything. Idahoron really put me on good bait but that seems to be the only thing thats gone right. I have yet to have a day where i catch more then 2 fish in a 8 hour span. [Image: sad.gif] I think it is mostly how im rigging my line but it might also be where im fishing.

I recently got access to a boat so if you can give me some relative locations that 14ft alum can hit that would be astounding [fishin]

if your willing to travel a bit you can go to brownlee or steck park and those are always a good bet for cats if you wanna go the other way and come to my neck of the woods in the burley area id be happy to get you catching cats and no boat needed.

Steck Park is on the south end of the reservoir. I've been there a time or two. It's a dirt road in there and it can be pretty washboard. I pulled my nice boat down there one time and had a nice handful of nuts and washers that had rattled loose. I now just take my small 14' boat down there. I don't necessarily target cats but we sure caught a lot of them down there. I was going after bass using crankbaits and my family and I caught far more cats than bass. It was middle of the summer and pretty hot. It seemed very strange to me but it sure was a fun day. Here are a couple of links for you that have maps.

It's not just you. Three of us went to Celebration Park yesterday evening and got skunked. We went upstream from the bridge to the end of the road and then walked a ways more to a spot that looked ok.

The wind was miserable, and it seems like there is too much main channel there (lots of current to fight), but regardless, we never got a bite in four hours.......

Your bank fishing skills surpass mine. I have only caught 1 catfish from the bank. Your on the right path. A pontoon or a float tube would hook you up big time. Ron

We caught a couple nice ones on Wednesday, just a couple miles from Celebration Park. We used some fresh tilapia cut bait and got two in the first 15 minutes and nothing for the next 30. I have a picture but I don't know how to post it.

I can text or email it to someone if they want to post it.
