I'm heading to lake Powell in a week and wanted to know what anyone was having success with? I also would appreciate any advice on the stripers down there. Any help is great and I'll post my findings when I get back.

Just got back from Good Hope area. It was epic as usual. Any baits will work just use what you have confidence with. grubs, jig/trailer, plastics, etc. Bass were spawning in some very unusual spots with no brush. Mainly any rock ledges with any type of gravel in smaller calm wind protected bays. Look for semi-stained water. Walleye are everywhere, just troll in 30 feet of water close to rocky shorelines. Crappie are in stained to muddy water in the backs of canyons. There's no brush, but they are still there just have to target them with smaller offerings.
I don't want to high jack this thread, but it was really

to see all the bass on beds in the morning and then watch all the tournament anglers roll through and have the bass disappear by afternoon. I don't blame the tournament anglers because I pulled a 4 lb 13 oz bass off a bed and immediately admitted to my buddies that if I was in the tourney it would have went in the live well, but I wanted to hear what peoples responses are to this happening and the effect you all think it has on the fishery. Do the fish spawn again, once released in Bullfrog after the weigh in, or is everything just lost once they are off there beds in Good Hope. I know the big largemouth I caught went to the weigh in for sure, along with many others that were in the 3 pound range. Just curious what everyone's thoughts are?

I kind of wonder about this alot too. It seems there is a tournament almost every weekend of some sort on almost all of the good bass waters. Makes you wonder what effect it has on the fish for sure. Sorry to continue the hijack.
