Heading over to Brownlee this weekend to chase bass and catfish. I'm trying to decide between around the cemetery vs down around Woodhead park/Brownlee Creek? Any suggestions/recent reports? I'll gladly post a report when we get back.

Thanks for any info!

-I recently fished Swan Falls reservoir and didn't have much luck throwing crankbaits for SMB, but did good fishing from the bank below the dam. Water temps were still pretty chilly. Probably should have been fishing slower.

-Lake Lowell has been good to me recently though, chartrouse spinner baits caught several LMB along the south side. Nothing huge, but good fishing. Also the suckers are spawning in the shallows right now so the big carp are in with them sucking up eggs - great time to hook into some giants on an egg pattern fly (good luck landing them in the trees).

Thanks again.

Water level is a little low. The elevation of the water is 2057 and full pool is 2077. I don't know how that would affect the boat ramps. Good luck on the cats and please post a report for us guys that drive 4 hours to get there. Ron

Or those who drive 6 hours.

Where do you find the current water levels?

The water was pretty low, and all the docks were still pulled up. My wife and I fished next to the train bridge at Steck Park on Sat. around noon and caught 1 catfish, maybe 16" long on liver.

Went back in the evening and caught 3 bass. I'm finally starting to catch more on my flying lures, they really do better on bass than trout but I almost never fished for bass over in IF. Used some bass meat on a hook and hooked one 15 seconds after one of my casts, but he came off right near the shore. He seemed pretty big, I'm assuming a catfish but I still had my hook and bait so at least my knots were good.

I also heard someone out on a boat in the dark saying they only caught one catfish, so It was slow for at least some of us. Did anyone else have some better luck?

Thanks everyone who chimed in with info.

We ended up launching at Morgan Creek and fished above and below the cemetery. Reservoir was about 20' from full pool. Water surface temps were 68-74F. Bass fishing was surprisingly slow. We threw crankbaits and tube jigs up and down both shores. The few bass we caught were big, heavy fish. We also caught a few 13"+ crappie on 4" tube baits while trying for bass.

The catfishing was on fire though. We were catching fish from 1-12 lbs, mostly 3-5 lbs. Cutbait worked bets, worms worked too. Lots of fish rolling on the surface and taking crankbaits. The best setup was a bobber and cutbait only a few feet below the surface. Rarely went 30 min without a fish, day or night.

Thanks again for the info.
