I hope everyone knows you can't keep bass at lake lowell right now. I have seen too many people keeping fish. Most come from bank fishing but I did see someone keep a huge 7 or 8 lbs bass and it really pissed me off. I hope nobody on here is keeping them because shame on you if you are. We have been catching big fish because others let them go. I also have noticed a lot less perch this year. I wonder if all the ice fishing hurt the pop? Time will tell.

If anyone is keeping fish from lake lowell they clearly have never looked at the water. Great fishing good sized fish but that water is scary

If you see that again you need to call fish&game on the spot.

No doubt....
And the perch are just fine.....

i saw fish and game tonight they need to post the regs better i have had a lot of people ask me the regs out there for keeping bass i am surprised how many people keep them with out knowing the regs i dont know why people feel the need to keep every thing they catch also if you dont think regs work you need to fish lake lowell i think the rules on bass out there is what make it such a great bass fishery

How do you see what other fishermen keep? If you are close enough to someone to see what they are doing or what they are keeping why don't you explain the laws to them? I have never seen a person keep a bass on Lake Lowell yet.
I have a much greater problem with people violating the no wake area rule. Fishermen running their boats at full speed in the no wake area are going to get the lake closed down or restricted even more. Last week I saw 3 boats violate that rule but never saw a fisherman keep a fish. And I spent all five weekday mornings on the lake. Fishing was great - 208 bass to the boat, with a 62 fish morning on Thursday.

Most people are incompetent and don't even care what the regs are.... its easy too find them, any public access point has the regs on the Lake Lowell board at each parking area and boat ramp... not enough patrols done on that lake in my opinion,

i wasn't 100% sure if they had kept it or not. The last time I informed someone about the regs on a lake I had a flat tire on my truck from a knife and told to go to hell. The f&G caught up with them later on and they had keep the fish.

Most of the people I have seen keep fish don't speak much English, are fishing from the shore on the south side. I have complained to the f&g many times over it.

I know lots of bass guys who will keep 5 in the well just to see what they got. Me and my friends have done it plenty of times for bragging rights for the night. They all end up back in the water.

During a critical period, when they are protecting their nests, sticking them in the livewell makes it extremely hard for them to accomplish this...

Putting them in your live well is taking possession. It is against the law (regulations). You also are exceeding the possession limit when it is legal to keep fish. If you want to have a contest with your friends, get a scale. I can't believe that you and your "bass guy" buddies don't know this.

An F&G boat cruised up to us yesterday to check our licenses. They also asked if we were aware of the bass regulations this time of year. Good news to me that they are spreading the word to fishermen who don't keep up with the changing regs.
Man, 62 bass day? That is a damn good day of fishing.

i like to hear they are checking out their i think they need to make some big signs that say catch and release bass only and have it dated right now the signs i have seen are small and you have to look for them most people dont go looking for things like that they need it so every one sees it
