[#000000][size 3][font "Times New Roman"]That shouldn't surprise you. I can guarantee you there are lake trout in the Gorge at least twice that length and weight. Noone can convince me otherwise.

Alot more than 20 I bet.

MAN! They must be eating that lake of all other species!

Soooo, your saying there are macks in the Gorge that are 104 lbs and 90 inches long[:/]? I would highly doubt that[shocked]. Of course you are kidding right?

Not hardly. Last year saw record numbers of kokanee caught. There's rainbows galore everywhere. Its still got bass. And these days, burbot too. The number of large lake trout has declined in recent years. There have been several fish as large and larger than that 52 pounder caught over the past few years too. All larger than the so-called "records," except that they were released instead of paraded around dead for a stupid record.

I have not fished there for years Jim and I too would be stoked to hook a Laker. But, what about the Brown trout? And don't they plant Rainbow and Koke? I am just asking as I have no idea.
Now tell me they eat Burbot, and I say wohhoo[laugh]

Browns, rainbows, and kokes all stocked. Always have been. Always will be. Very little natural reproduction on any of them.

I've caught a few lakers with burbot in their throats, but its still mostly kokanee, followed by rainbows, that the macks dine on. The lakers have more to eat than they know what to do with.

Largest Mac ever found weighed in at 102. Sooooo yeah it is possible. Not probable though. The current all tackle world record was 72 pounds.

Guarantee, lol, like you said, 104 lbs not probable, 90 inches impossible, imo[Smile].

I understand that you're passionate about your lake and your fish, but to demean someone for legally keeping a "stupid record" is too much.

How would you like it if people just decided to keep every Mac that they could legally keep just because it was "a stupid fish"?

/soapbox

I'm going back to editing out the background of my Jordan River carp pictures -- you're all going to LOVE them.

More than anyone could have ever guest. After 20 or 30 years old they get preaty smart.
At least that's what I believe to be true.
[signature]
I don't feel they're really that smart. They are just really, really far apart! Also they feed when they decide, not us.

[#000000][font "Times New Roman"][size 3]Maybe not 104 pounds and 90 inches but 70-85 pound ones have got to be in there. They have had plenty of time to grow. [fishin]

[#000000][font "Times New Roman"][size 3]Why not?

[#000000][font "Times New Roman"][size 3]I agree with you 110%. People don't need to be put down for fishing their way especially when it is perfectly legal. Unfortunately, some people think that the Gorge is a private body of water. If the DWR has decided it to be legal to keep one laker over a certain length, noone has the right to put people down or criticize them for doing something that is totally legal. [fishin]

It's perfectly legal to be a lazy azz dad who sits at home all day watching T.V.while your wife works, cares for the kids cleans and brings you food. But there are plenty of low life losers who have no problem with doing just that. It's not about weather or not something's legal.

That's a far stretch! Those fish are/were planted for us catch and do whatever we want with as long as it's legal so what's the deal with people getting mad cause someone kept a fish that was intended to be caught. I don't keep very many fish. If I do catch a big one I usually let it go, I'm all for letting the trophies go but who cares if one gets kept there are more out there

There are fish in there so big that the under water workers for the damn want a cage to protect them...
