Has anyone been by Newton lately? The last I hear the water was still very low. I'm wondering if its up on the ramp yet, or do you have to launch from the side of the ramp? Any idea what the water temps are? Thanks in advance! Fred K.

I was there one week ago. Water was up to the ramp but barely. Kind of a mud hole this spring. didn't get a water temp but they weren't water skiing so I'm guessing pretty cold (low 50's). That doesn't mean boats weren't blasting up and down the lake all evening, unfortunately.

I was out there two weeks ago, very low water temp was 54 degrees, launched a 18 ft ranger bass boat off the ramp. Fishing was slow and the fish were up shallow and very spooky. Only managed one muskie no other bites and one chaser, spotted probably 8-10 muskie though.

I was out last night. Doesn't look good this year. water level is very low and its done filling up. On its way down in fact. Water temp was 68 degrees. Most structure is out of the water still. And it looks like there will not be an upper end this year. They better be careful not to drain it this year... oh well.... Who likes those toothy critters anyway.

I'm pretty worried about this year. A couple of my favorite Idaho reservoirs are starting out a bit low too. They already drained my favorite last year, and if these two go, I may just quit fishing until they recover.
It bugs me to see how much people waste water though. Last week, during the rain storms, I saw one house that had its water going on the way home from work at around 6pm, the next morning at about 8:30am, it was still on, that night, still on. There was another house that same period that had its water on for at least 12 hours. It hasn't even been that hot yet, and I see certain houses with their sprinklers on every single day [mad]

Is it possible to launch a boat solo? I was thinking of heading up there Friday and staying overnight and fishing it but will be launching my bass boat solo.
In the past I launched from the primitive side on the dirt but curious if boat loaunch is possible from the ramp and can I beach my boat anywhere close to the ramp so I can go park my vehilce?
