I am probably one of those who tell to much but you guys are my friends and I love being able to share with my friends.
I want & hope to meet all of you at some time and If the Lord blesses to be able to spend some time fishing with you and learning as well as maybe doing a little bragging[
] I just don't seem to get to do that that often.
Thanks for being my fishin buddies.

No, thank you. You are a great guy, a great fisherman, and a great friend. I don't think you tell too much at all. I'm not sure if you are capable of bragging, but I look forward to our next bull session...... Hopefully it will be on the lake.

Curt,
I'd love to meet up with you some time. I get over to that part of the state once in a while. If you are ever over here, let me know, we'll "hook up".

This is a great place and a wealth of information. Fished with a few of you and hope someday to fish with many more. Thanks to everyone who contributes to the forum and makes it what it is [cool]

With all that's going on about giving away information I for one have never felt it important enough to keep other people from being successful. I cant catch all the fish in the lake anyway. They move from day to day someday's chicken someday's feathers. I've been helped on this board and hopefully I have helped others. I fished commercially for some time back east. I always helped other boats if I could. There were times when I had clients on board and couldn't buy a fish but some of those other people helped me save the day. What goes around comes around. Cant worry about the few that abuse the system cant do anything about it anyway. I'm here to enjoy my time on the water and reading boards like this. I like to hear from idahopanfish he was the first one to help me when I first joined.

Well said, everyone. I have learned a lot from all of you, and appreciate your comments and wisdom. I especially want to thank all the present and past moderators for keeping things on a somewhat even keel. [cool]
Just keep on posting. Sometimes it might expose some waters a little, but no reports and the board will die. I have seen this on another board.
On that board a vocal group of guys started making comments to anyone that reported any details, kept fish, didn't handle them how they liked, or whatever. That attitude took its toll and now there are maybe 2 or 3 reports on there a year usually from a new member(who leaves quickly). Now the only ones on the board are a few of the same guys who talk about drinking and the most they say as far as a report is something like " Hey, I got out this weekend" . Looking back at that board there is one report on it in the last 4 months. It is a forum with nothing much of worth to anyone.
So just keep on posting, waters like Cascade and CJ are huge and there is room for even the lurkers. But be aware of all the lurkers on here and share more sensitive waters or details in PMs. Or don't share the little waters at all. That is ok too. I like how helpful everyone has been on here, and I like to see pictures and stories of others' adventures even if I don't know where it is at.
I have gotten to where I don't say what reservoir or stream I am on because most of the ones I fish here in SE Idaho are small, but I will share most (Not al...sorry! [
]l) with regulars in a PM.

I am a new member to this site and am encouraged by the helpful and friendly nature you all seem to have here. I can usually be found on some body of water in SW Idaho a couple times a month and look forward to sharing both my successes and failures.
Brownlee Res. used to be a favorite destination for my family but recent years have produced zero results. Nothing. Zip. Zilch. Nadda. Was there a kill-off by Fish and Game for some reason? I just don't get it. Ten years ago it was the best crappie fishery in SW Idaho. Now you don't even get a crappie bite.
Looking forward to developing some meaningful and helpful relationships,

Welcome to BFT! Happy to hear from you.
On the crappie: Crappie are cyclic in their populations. When there is a huge number of large crappie in a lake, like Brownlee had, they eat most of the young crappie. So you get a great 3 or 4 years of catching the 2 or 3 upper year classes that dominate the reservoir.
But caught or not those fish pass on, then there is a gap from those year classes that the big boys ate! Plus throw in a few years of water problems, drought, poor spawning conditions, and other preditors such as smallmouth and catfish and you get some not so good years.
It will probably recover, but it will take some good water years.

Well said Michael!!
I've always considered this site and members as one big family and enjoy the reports. I know I've given info right down to including a picture of the jig and twin tail grub that I use pretty much exclusively. Was I giving to much info? Yeah, probably but life's too short to worry about it. I just hope that it helped someone catch some fish.
Hope we can get together again this year. Thank you and the rest of the family on here. [cool]
