Took the boat out and made sure it still floated yesterday.
Fished Lamont and caught 49 LMB... not a single one of which was longer than 12" (and very few even THAT long).
All in the ultra shallows, warming up. Easily spooked. Saw one nice bass (relatively speaking - MAYBE 2#) consider a small-scale spinnerbait I threw into the timber, but nothing else of size or significance.
Unless you count tiger muskie. Saw a beast of a TM on the north end, sunning. That or somebody released an alligator in there.

See any of them fish that are a little blue around the gil?

Thanks for sharing. It's fun to catch high numbers of small fish occasionally, but it's also nice to have a quality fish days. Have you taken any time to fish condie?

Lots and lots of them. Sharing the ultra-shallows with the bass. Probably saw 4-5 BG for every bass.

No. Yesterday was my first day to get out.
I'm tempted to just go see what's left, but when fishing time is limited, I'm hesitant to burn precious minutes/hours confirming what my eyes told me last fall.

Do you wear a brace to protect your hands now?
I'll be curious to hear how the other puddles do. Gonna be a tough year for water all around it seems.
Wierd - I seem to remember breaking my back a few times over shovelling the white stuff...
maybe it IS time for same bassin! Lamont doesn't have Crappie right - wonder how Twin or Johnson are doing?
Do you wear a brace to protect your hands now?
Nope. Just opted for high gear ratio baitcasters. [
Lamont doesn't have Crappie right?
Actually, it does. My first trip out there, one of my boys pulled an 11 or 12" slab out.

The crappie have been few in number so far. They started showing up about 3 years ago. I have been putting them back, with the hopes that they will get a good population going. If they had a good spawn last year then maybe this year there will be enough of them to get well established.
I wish that they would restock Foster with the bass and panfish.

Unless that alligator's been snacking on them.

I am sure he has been, but he and a couple more like him have been there for awhile. There aren't many TM there and seeing or catching one is pretty rare. I have looked for him, but I haven't seen him yet. I don't ever go at the right times!

Ive only seen evidence of them in there, via chomped up fish. I know by now they have got to ne of epic size and are probably not going to be easy to catch.

I really wish they would restock Foster too. Especially after Condie was decimated last year. I'm sure some have made their way down from Glendale, but I'm not sure how many.
I actually caught quite a few crappie a couple of Septembers ago dropshotting in 18-20 feet of water. I also ran into some gills and perch down there.
As for the other puddles, things are moving along (maybe a bit too fast). I've been out a few times this past week and the water is already into the low 70s in some reservoirs. It seems we went from the coldwater period to the spawn and pretty much skipped the prespawn (my favorite time of year) [mad] Stupid weather. I still caught some fish, but not like most springs.
