Headed up to Henrys Lake next weekend for the opener. Hopefully camping somewhere around Staley or the boat dock. Anybody else gonna be up for opening weekend?

There will be alot of people up there for sure, I avoid the opener. I imagine the fishing will be good.

I guess I'm a glutton for punishment. Just cant stay away from the Big H even with the terrible weather and gobs of people.

I will avoid being there on the opener, but will probably go the next week sometime.

Last year we went at the end of october and it was awesome! 3-4 boats on the whole lake each day and fishing was wonderfull.

Ill be up there also. I'm not a fan of the combat fishing from the shore so I will be on a boat. The fishing should be good. The ice stayed on longer then it did last year so that should help. I plan to fish the outlet the Friday before the opener also.

baggem we will be out in pontoons. if you see a group of pontoons- (grey, 2 green, blue, and a red) stop and say hi. ill be in the blue pontoon named blew by you. we are headed up friday afternoon and were thinking of fishing the outlet as well. may head to box canyon or something not sure yet. you guys camping or have a cabin?

Ill look out for you. Ill be on a bayliner taking my nieces and nephews out, so look for a rowdy boat. haha If the outlet is busy we will probably try the box canyon or coffee pot rapids on friday. Ill be teaching my with to fly fish also. my parents will also be there fishing with me friday. We have a cabin a few minutes from henry's.

Awesome. I imagine the outlet will be fairly busy. Plenty of water to go and fish else where though. Hoping that we can still find a spot to camp by Friday afternoon.

my brother told me of a place they camped near staley springs back when he was a teenager. It was right on the shore. Anybody know if you can still camp there or has it been sold off or turned into private property?

I believe you can still camp there, but I'm not certain.

What's up guys. I'm new to the site but not to Henrys. That spot is usually occupied by the same group every year from early Friday opening weekend till about Tuesday. I'll miss opening for the first time in 10 years. My dad just got a new job and can't get it off. I wouldn't feel right going without him. Anyway I'll try it the weekend after. [:/]

Why thank you! However, we will wait a couple weeks before hitting the H.
We do have a boat, just not as nice as yours by any stretch, but, well made and gets us from point A to point B[cool]

Good luck to you all, and if you catch anything over 30", CPR it so can catch it ...LOL
