Today I took a fine young man from the forum, splitsnowberry (hey, don't look at me, I didn't name him) . We were searching for the largest fish he has ever caught, and since the cats still are around the nuke I took him there this afternoon. He is a schoolteacher, and teaches kids in the 8th grade (7th & 8th OR 8th & 9th, I can't remember which and at my age I'm not about to try to memorize too much crap anymore). I guess he needed a break from the little, ummm, poops. I know I would. emoBig emoBig

He did a great job of figuring out what was going on and latched onto a couple of really nice fish, including 3 TARP blue catfish today!!! The wind got up and I was having a bunch of trouble controlling the drift. Turns out one of my trolling batteries had gone to battery heaven and left me in a little bit of hell, but we dealt with it and he boated a 34 lb, a 30 lb, a 22 lb, and a smaller fish or two. Had a terrific time picking on the poor guy, and when he commented about the trouble the third (and largest) of the TARPS was giving him, I picked up the cutters and offered to cut the line and save him from the fish. Should have seen the look on his face emoEek emoEek emoEek . I hope he didn't think the old man was too batty, but I had fun............ emoBig

Joe, I had a great time with you and am proud of how you handled the fish. Congratulations!! emoWorthy emoWorthy

Took a picture of a bunch of freshwater mussels floating on the top in an eddy. There were quite a few around, and I suspect the catfish were pretty well stuffed with them.
