Headed out to fish tomorrow morning. I really want to head up to deep cr to try and catch some of those big bows I let go last year, hoping they grew up some more, especially that one that got away. I also am hoping I might be able to catch a few cuts moving into the creek beds getting ready to spawn. I will be with my younger brother who I've been trying to convince to fly fish more so we will be out in our float tubes flinging flies, if we decide to go to deep cr. However my brother is way more into bass fishing and I have recently been 'hooked' on the craze of bass'n. Has anyone been to Twin lakes recently and can tell me if the bass are up in the shallows yet? This crazy weather has been screwing with the bass spawn I think, unless someone knows otherwise? I want to catch some big trout at deep cr but if the bass are up now I don't want to miss out on that opportunity either. I still think its a little premature to catch the big bass in shallow but anyone have some tips? Penny for your thoughts?

I drove by Twin Lakes on my way home from Oneida yesterday to check the water levels as I was there about a month ago and the water was lower than it was at the end of July last year which made it only about half way full. Yesterday surprised me as the water appears to be within about 4 to 5 feet from being full. The water still hasn't made it to the willows so there really isn't any hiding spots for the fish to get into yet, with any luck they will keep pumping into it and get it filled up within the next couple of weeks.

Thanks Plish, that simplifies things. I'll give twin another week or two, I just noticed that there is going to be a tournament first week of june and was hoping to get out there before all of that was hit so hard. oh well.
Anyone else going to be out at deep cr or maybe weston?

Most of the bass places close by are in full swing, the water rose un temp rather fast at some of the places. One of them was at 71 degrees in the shallows already last I went.

Wednesday I fished Twin Lakes. There were 3 other boats fishing
that day. In the South lake we saw 1 gill floating, 0 trout, & 0 bass.
North lake saw a dozen bass & caught 1. The other boats caught 0
fish & they were fishing for trout, bass, & gills using flies, lures, and
bait. We fished for all 3 and never caught but the 1 fish. We fished
shallow to the middle of the lake & never had one strike at any kind
of bait, jig, or fly. One fish strike combined for the other boats. There
are 20 to 30 pelicans still on the lake.
