So I fished on my friends boat who has a Ipilot bow mounted motor. Waaay awesome motor by the way, kept us where we needed to be the entire time without the mess or headache of dealing with anchor lines.

I have an idea of mounting a bow mounted trolling motor off of a swim deck on a larger boat. When I say larger, I mean 24ft, but using the biggest motor out there, the 101. This I'm guessing, might work not necessarily for the trolling option, but for the gps anchor option. I do understand it's an expensive anchor option, but man it sure is nice.

Anybody out there ever thought of this or has made it work for them??

It might work if you can get enough clearance so the prop doesn't hit the stern. It would be better to have it off of the bow (out of the way and more control pulling a boat than pushing one). I just upgraded my Minnkota to have i-Pilot and it definitely is a nice way to go.

I failed to mention my bow sits really high out of the water so the only option would be on the stern. Eh, I dunno... it would be an expensive experiment. Thanks tho!
