This is my 2nd year year salmon fishing and while it's enjoyable it's also highly discouraging at times. I like plunking the confluence but find it to be slow. I have caught this season thank god but I've also sat for 8 hours without a single bite.
I only bank fish. I have one (maybe two) question for bank anglers in the area...
1. What is your fishing rig for plunking the confluence? Business end only. Weight, lure, bait, specific length of leader and dropper line and whatever information your willing to share. I'm never sure that my lure is at fish level and doing its job.
I have adjust leader and dropper weight. Tried the weight on a slider. Tried different sized spinglows, lures, and baits. I figured that there has to be some setup that is generally known to be effective. I'm sick of guessing.
The reason I ask this question here and not on the banks is because many of the people I talk to seem unsure; and like me, have spent plenty of time not catching anything. While others claim to catch 10 fish a day and a little too sure of themselves.
tl:dr; tell me specifically how to catch more than one salmon a day at the confluence in Lewiston.
Thank you and good luck.
ps. I would be out there right now learnin myself but I'm "working".
