I had to see the doctor this morning, so I got a late start. I figured I'd look for threadfin shad to see if the bass and white bass bite has started much - it is running VERY late. I tried all of the regular spots for the shad, but the only fish I netted was a nice 2-1/2 lb largemouth. I think it was too late in the day (near noon) and the shad were all deep (40' &#43. Drumking and Wanda stopped by for some instruction on the trolling motor on the new boat. I can see where he was having trouble figuring out how to deploy it, but I have a hint as to how to solve the on/off problem. Plug it in...........

I stopped to catfish for a short time and met tbinchrist out there. We have communicated a lot, but have never before met. He said the catfish bite had died quite a bit earlier, so after missing one fish I decided to hunt bass and white bass with a jigging spoon. No largemouth or spots were interested, but I did find one nice white bass and a small yellow bass with the jigging spoon on the channel edge in about 25 feet of water.

While I was fooling with that, Pat (bassERT) stopped by to give me the business and brag about all of the crappie he found. He too is looking for the white bass bite to start, and maybe he and I can get together when it does. Should be fun!

Not much for fish, and no pictures, but a nice day to go explore a bit anyway!
