So is it going to dry up by july? Water graph looks prety Sad!!! [frown] [mad]

It's looking bleak indeed!
I've heard that they're rationing the irrigation water, cutting the farmers' supply by something like 25% per acre, and they still expect to run out before harvest time.

We get our water from their and we were allotted only 2/3s of last years water.

Wonder if Callen's motorhome will make it up that ramp? Fishing should be fabulous.

The weather has been super goofy, I'm holding off till things level out some.

I was planning on going this week, but decided to wait. I'll post up whenever I do get up there, hopefully within the next 2 weeks.

Any word for on the catching yet? Fishing is probably good!

Haven't been able to get up there yet. I'm shooting for tuesday though!

Seems like we have had 7 days of nothing but wind here in Twin Falls. Makes for no good catching....

Yeah this weather has made it hard to plan a day to go LoL! I have high hopes for next week. This weekend doesn't look bad, but I stay away from the high profile places on the weekends, I'm not into the "shoulder-to-shoulder" style of fishing.

Just wear a pistol and talk and argue with yourself. Most people wont get very close then. . Lol

So... .in other words, just be myself?

Will do! [Image: happy.gif]

According to this site http://www.usbr.gov/pn/hydromet/ramps/owyhee/owyhee.html Owyhee is down 41 feet. Gordon Gulch, the day use ramp, is still 17' to the good.

Fished it yesterday, wasn't worth the gass going there. Poor, went to Leslie Gulch, very few fish on FF and what we seen were at 20 feet Fishing crappie

Not what I wanted to hear but thank you for saving me the gas.
That's what I love about this site.

Well I made it up to Owyhee, finally.
A bit of a fiasco though. I picked up my "day pass" for Oregon F&G Wednesday. Didn't notice they set it for wednesday instead of thursday, even after I told her Thursday twice, and confirmed thursday would be the 6th.

I went up and found a nice little cove on the river at 6am, plenty of nice browns working the topwater.
Grabbed my flypole, practiced untangling it from the weeds for a couple of hours. Then I grabbed my spinner, with my nice big Mepps red&white spinner. Slapped on a white minnow trailer, and bam, first cast, one almost tore of the minnow. Second cast, rock claimed my spinner. My only red & white spinner. They didn't like anything else I tried, and I tried my whole tacklebox.
So... Run up to the lake, switch everything over to the pontoon boat. Pull my lisc out of my wallet so I could leave my wallet in the truck. THAT is when I noticed the date. Back down to Owyhee store I go, to get a current lisc.
Back to the lake. As I'm launching I see a bunch of trout trolling the ramp, but a couple boats pull in right after me. So, I move off, to let them do their thing. Then some teen (who I suspect was only about 50% coherent, and maybe 75% mobile), stomps up and down the dock, yelling at the fish and throwing rocks at them. Then he jumps in and tries to swim with them.
So I move off even farther. Now the wind picks up, so I'm kicking constantly just to stay still. My anchor wouldn't reach.
I managed to locate a school of smallies. SMALL smallies. Same for the crappie. I caught quite a few fish, some even fought a bit. But non were over 6 inches. I glanced over, the kid is looks to be bathing himself by the dock. About this time I also notice that I'm bright red, in spite of my tan. Forgot the sunblock in the truck. Ugh.
So, back to the dock. Figured I'd try the river again after I load up on sunblock & snacks.
The river was PACKED with people! Ankle deep, waving flyrods. It's thursday, right??
And of course this reminded me of my morning adventure with the weed patch. So, I decided to pack it in for the day.
Got home, and my neighbors were loading up to hit the bass pond. So I ditched the pontoon, grabbed a sandwich and headed on down. Caught a few, but nothing exciting there either.

Don't get me wrong, it was a beautiful day. I just wish I hadn't bothered buying a fishing lisence for Oregon. Twice.

I talked to a few boaters at Owyhee, who all seemed to have the same luck as I did. Few, far between, and small.
(And yes, the boat launch is still in the water)

EDIT: And for some reason I can't do inline pics, LoL
