After reading Ironrod's post the other day about Ririe I figured I should head up there and check it out. Since I still need to get the motor running on the boat I just did the dock/shore thing. Either way it payed off. arrived around 11am and fished until 2pm. Landed about 20 perch, mostly 9-10.5" with a few around 7 or 8". Kept 12 for the dinner plate and just had fun with the rest. Also managed to catch 2 good sized rainbows (around 16 inch) that went back. Saw several boats out but didn't hear much as far as people catching out on the reservoir. Oh, was using 1/8 oz jig head in white with a pinch of worm on it just barely off the bottom.

Good report. Those are nice sized perch. Sounds like you may have done better without the boat.

just unloaded the pics from the phone tonight. Here is what was actually kept, other than the one my son is holding, it went back in.

Hey guy's I was wondering what end of the lake I should launch my boat at to take my kids out to chase some perch next week? I have never been to Ririe and would love to take my kids there.
Thanks

I would launch at Blacktail. Fish the willow creek arm which is straight across from the boat launch.

Belasko, thanks for the news on Ririe! I have been chomping at the bit to get out but have been out of town for business two of the last three weeks. Glad to see that some nice perch are being caught! Another post states that some nice kokes are getting caught as well. Sounds like it is going to be a grat season out there! BTW, anyone here of any smallies or walleyes out there yet this year?

I've heard of people targeting (or trying to) walleyes in the willow creek arm. Heard from at 4th hand source that the bass were starting to show some life, but it was pretty sketchy. Other than that I can't say I've heard any more than what has been posted here. The reported water temps seem about right for how it felt the other day though so I imagine some fish are moving.

water temp yesterday was 56-57,kokes were sporadic but we managed to get 10 in the cooler. Best color was a light orange splatter hoochie.
