There is a lot of good Springer fishing to be had on the Clearwater right now. I'm new to Chinook fishing but we were able to get out last Saturday and had some really good success. We fished in the Lewiston area (right above the railroad bridge). We ended up with 15 hookups and landed 9 of them. I was really surprised how many fish we saw caught! I bet we there was over 50 fish landed within our view (from boats as well as shore). Most of them were Jacks but several adults as well. My brother-in-law landed an 18 pounder. Here is the pick of that...

The meat color and firmness was so much better than what you see in the Fall. Good times. Might have to try it again this weekend!
