Probably already know the answer, but It's always good to get good feed back. Want to go fishing at Montua at the N.E. part. on a weekday. Am I doing the wrong thing with him following on the bank and swimming out to me? Am I overstepping the consideration for others?[:/]

I wonder if the "swimmers' itch" critters in Mantua affect dogs?

Leaky,

I just love the bond you have with Sparky and, for whatever it's worth, I'd say take him with! I haven't met you personally but kinda figger you're the type that'll do all you can to keep Sparky from gettin' too familiar with others and botherin' 'em. Hell man, he deserves to get out too.

Be aware that there are a lot of people that use the road/path as an exercise trail, often with dogs. I have seen some that are rather unruly. As with any other place it will depend on the time and day you go. You I think will be just fine, it's the others you worry about.

Is there a leash law?

Just was I was wondering. I second the other trail users notion. I'm sure Sparky is friendly enough, but that doesn't mean other dogs will be.

If there is a leash law, and Barney can enforce it - you can be sure he'll be quick to ticket, gotta fund the Policeman's Balls - if they have any.

Some of the edges are pretty woody, and get weedy. But Leaky - you've been there before, you know that.
I'd suspect Dogs would be less susceptible to the itch, due to their fur coats, but - by the nature of those pests - I'd expect a dogs delicate nether regions could be affected. I may be wrong - but I think that becomes more of a problem later in the season.

Marinespear could tell ya about it!

I may head down there soon myself. My luck - I'll wait long enough for the w i n d to kick up!
Yes. and Yes. I hate when dogs are running loose along banks and in the water when I try to fish. I have a dog and do not let her run wild around other people when they are fishing, even if I'm quite a ways away from others. Put the critter on a leash or at least put on a shock collar so you can keep tabs on your critter.
