Does anyone know how its fishing lately? I'm going up next Friday, never fished it. I have heard damsels behind an indicator do well. Any other suggestions. I went to Daniels last week and 3 of us did pretty good using leeches. PM me for color, size and presentation.
Thanks

From what I have heard it is fishing really slow right now.

I went up twice this past year ice fishing and the ratio was 1:75, with the 1 being trout & the 75 being bass. I know there was a thread on this awhile back, on what they were going to do with it, poison etc. Would be interesting to know if anyone is catching any trout, or how the bass fishing is if you were targeting the bass.

I went to treasureton for the first time ever this year and did relatively well. I caught some really nice trout, didn't even get into the bass. The second time I went back was a lot slower and the fishing seemed to go with the weather. But If you're curious in what I used you can PM me.

I managed to catch one little LMB and drop my 5 weight overboard, no other excitement to be found.

Bummer! Considering how low the res is likely to get this year, you might want to come back in a month or two and see if you can find your rod.

They said if the reservoir gets low enough that they are going to do a salvage, they may try to net the bass and forgo the poisoning. While I don't want to see it poisoned, I really hope it doesn't get that low either.

I wish I had not laughed so hard while you were chasing your toon down. dam karma paid me back on the berry!

People have been reporting on doing well with damsel nymphs out there. The last two times I've been I haven't gotten anything on the damsel. What am I doing wrong?

How fast are you fishing them? They wiggle a lot, but they really don't get too far fast. Lots of pauses.

I guess I've really only have fished them two ways at treasureton. I have slowly trolled with my sinking line in my float tube and I have tried just letting them drift with floating line and an indicator.

Either of those methods should work. Picky fish!!

ya I figure they see a lot of patterns there so they are a bit picker than other places I've been to. It's just that most people I talk to out there are always suggesting a damsel but I am yet to hook up with a fish on a damsel fly at treasureton. I have only caught them on something else. And whenever I tell people what I'm using they always kind of give me a look like I'm crazy. I just wanted to know if I was fishing the damsel incorrectly. Thanks for the input. Picky fish.....[crazy]

I like an intermediate line and a short strip, strip, strip...p...a...u...s..e... type of retrieve. It could also be your pattern, are you tying them yourself or buying them? When it comes to damsel patterns less is more, big bulky damsels are not as good as a thin minimalist one. Just my two cents. Best of luck.
