Just got back from brownlee, went over on the 15th in that time we had one decent day in the 80s.We fished 7 hours and had 3 keeper bas 3 people fishing. They were in 25 to 30 feet of water temp got to 70 no crappie at all!We did real well on cat fish and trout on cut bait. The weather was windy and rainy.Checked the fish cleaning station at woodhead a couple times in the evening, maybe 20 bass and 2 crappie for all day pretty

Last year the water fluctuated a lot and it seemed like the crappie never turned on - just like this year.
So, are the crappie not spawning at all, or just not much and/or all at the same time? If the spawn is very limited two years in a row, it wouldn't appear to bode well for future years.........

some people think that the crappie spawned the last 2 years and idaho power dropped the water level and the spawn was lost.I know we didnt see big bunches on yythe finder and what we did see was 25 30 feet down. If the fluxuate the water like they do oxbow they dont have a chance. Also every time they start a turbine at the dam they kill 100s of crappie minnows ,you can see them floating on the surface.

I've only been fishing Brownlee a couple of years, but are the levels and flows the last couple years unique?

last year we did about like this year.3years ago was when it flooded we were catching 12 to14 inch crappie as fast as you could in oxbow you couldnt fish brownlee because it was filling so fast.I think alot of the fish washed out of brownlee. So who knows its just
where its at now.
