Murtaugh is mainly a water ski lake. You would be hard pressed to fish there because you would have to dodge 50 ski boats. If you do fish, it would probably be good for cat fish, and probably not big ones.
Dierkes, is a swimming lake, however it would be good for float tubing to catch bass dtayboyz on here has the scoop on what to use to catch em. planter trout too...
If you come down here, you may as well drive the extra 30 minutes to go to walcott, huge smallies and great trout from a boat. PM me on what to use.
oh! and if you do go by Murtaugh, you have to stop by the Ace True Value there, Brad Perkins (dry creek outfiters) and his awesome selection of tackle, he pours his own baits and they work awesome.

Murtaugh is shallow and they have planted channel cats, but it is mostly mud cats. Last fall there were two 4 ft sturgeon on the mud when they stopped the canals, so others species ( ie: bass, trout carp) are possible. I really think the next state record largemouth is in dierkes, they plant is with tastey trout so much there has to be some toads. Shad raps, swim baits or dry creek tubes all work well. Good luck!
