I think I got a new hobby it's called looking at gas price going up and down everyday.
This website is pretty helpful to find the cheapest gas in your area or your favorite gas station. I hope the people who own the oil company get burned really good because I have a happy feeling I'm going to be paying $4+ a gallon this summer.

Another thing oil companies should be responsible if they get a big oil leak or one of their ships explode. We shouldn't be paying for their mistakes. This is just ridiculous where the economy is going now especially with gas.

Oh how did that one great song go???
The gas price goes up then food then we are all dead.

Yeah it definitely sucks but what can you do? Well I guess you can always buy a hybrid or an electric car but if thats not an option my only advice is to suck it up and deal with the prices...you need gas right?

Yes we do need gas but think how much oil we got under us. It's not like we are close to our final drops of oil that's making the gas price go up but if that's what the companies are thinking then their stupid.

your going to college soon, or i think you said you were. i suggest, just for funsies, taking the global eceonimics class. OPEC and the supply vs demand model is discussed in that class, well worth it and will explain alot.

Yep we could have all the oil in the world here and the prices would continually go up. You do know we have 4 or 5 refineries here right ? Basically crude oil is pumped or driven here to be turned into fuel and other petroleum based products yet we have some of the worst fuel prices.

Its all about the all mighty dollar [mad]

Ya I have experience listening to those huge oil pumps around Utah and still gas price is pathetic. The mighty dollar is losing the value.

right there what you said is why gas is so high. the price of fuel is not out of control, its the fact that the US dollar has lost so much value. it is starting to come back up again, but very slowly.

Preface: this is NOT directed at Koch, just liked your launch.
. . . it is starting to come back up again, but very slowly.
That's what she said! Oh - wait, that's totally inappropriate.

I have loads of gas - between beer and beans - supply and demand, no problem-o!

I may be wrong, but I don't think the feds pick up all the bills for oil-spill cleanups. Though doesn't seem to dent the big oils profit margins. They seem to do "ok".
Wonder why we aren't farther ahead with "alternate fuels" - um, can you say special interests? The gas companies and the auto industry and big time lobbyists, and they get what they want.

But even an electric car - think about it. Where does the electricity come from to charge them thar batteries? Could be coal?
Sad thing is - rising gas prices has the trickle up effect of raising the price on EVERYTHING else. If it ships, it costs. And everything ships (isn't that an REM song? almost).

Thing that gets me is the predictive nature of the gas gouging. A suggestion of a big coastal storm, and the gas goes up before there can be any real impact. Um, yeah - no.
Cracks me up at one station - I key in my Zip, and they "lower prices" - then after fillup the receipt boasts that I saved .15c, wooppie - after PAYING $60, um yeah, no.
