Made a couple of quick trips to the Payette bass pond last week. It's been hard to get down there when it wasn't blowing like crazy.
I've been seeing bass sitting on the nests, or guarding their fry. They don't seem interested in my frogs unless I literally smacked them in the face with it, and repeatedly.
I had one old male grab my frog & spit it out before I could yank (he was only about ten feet in front of me, I had a very "educational" view of his behavior). Once he grabbed hard, but only bit the tail off when I yanked. Finally managed to set into him on about the 4th good bite. Since he was being a good Dad, I put him back as soon as I could get my hook back.

Only managed to get one nice LMB to commit, but I had several smallies, and a few planters - when I got tired of pitching frogs, I switched to a worm so I could have a break LoL!

I see quite a few nice big carp cruising, and occasionally jumping nice and high. I may have to get a pole set up for heavier fish and see if I can nab one of those...
