Magic is done for the year as fars as launching boats.
Just got word from my best buddy that he was unable to launch his boat yesterday due to low water.
Looks like it will be a tube and tooner paradise until she runs dry.

I don't really know for sure if they will drain it all the way,, but that's the big rumor I'm hearing.
I read somewhere last week that it was at less than 20% and supposedly we have irrigation until the end of the month, so I'm guessing that's not gonna leave much more than the Bigwood river channel flowing through.
I have seen it that way in the early 90s..

Thanks for the reply. If it is drained that will be a major bummer and some time before Magic gets back on its feet. It is a shame that it was drained this winter.

Someone reported on West Magic Resort FB page seeing 30+ boats fishing Magic on Saturday & said the fishing has been pretty good. He also said he too had heard that you could not launch a boat @ Magic but that was not true. [fishin]

Westside,, I was told that the water was well below the cement ramp, and that Myrtle was no better.
He did say that there were some little 12" or so Aluminum boats out on the water.
Dang!!! I hesitated to post up about this on hearsay but the guy the info came from is
a pretty solid guy and I would never hesitate to take what he tells me to the Bank..
I will drive out there this morning and see for myself whats up..

Just got off the phone with a guy that launched a 22" jetboat at westside yesterday, he said he wouldnt try it again this year but that Myrtle was good to launch at no problem at all.. And fishing was excellant this weekend.
I should of known better to post up on hearsay,, I am really sorry if I screwed up anybodys plans for the last week, my only intentions were to save folks the trouble of
hauling a boat all the way there and finding that they couldn't launch..

Yeah,, launching at Myrtle was a breeze,We were the only boat on the water the whole entire afternoon/evening.
Didn't check the Westside launch.
Only trolled for about 1 hour caught a couple decent Rainbows no Browns.
Caught a ton of bass the rest of the time, no big uns though.
