Started out the day on offshore structure with a 17 in. smallie but no crappie, too much current (60K cfs with some flood gates open). Caught my crappie in deep water (15 ft. or deeper) where there were eddies by deep dropoffs, bluffs and docks. Lake level at 682.9 was too high for a poor dock shooter like me. Surface temp. on my 2 instruments was between 73 and 74. I caught about 20 keeper crappie and kept a limit of 11 in. plus fish.

Drumking and Candi stopped by to say hello and we had a nice chat. They also brought me luck, because I caught a TARP (or real near TARP) on the first cast after they left. I must've caught at least as many throwbacks as keepers. My best color BG baby shad color today was red/glitter, but I also caught fish on anything with chartreuse in it. I got a couple of nice spots (or meanmouths) and lost a good bass after several minutes, all on crappie lures. I used 1/16 and 1/8 oz. leadheads. I released the bass. I lost a lot of fish today, didn't get good hooksets due to wind, current and light lures.

I'm only posting a pic of my best fish, too tired to show the total catch, which is on ice over night before cleaning tomorrow. My post a pic then.

Regards, Nauticman
