Just returned back from our annual trip up north to the Snake River and the Gateway. The trip did not disappoint us. We boated tons of smallmouths. From dinks up to five pounders. We caught them on top water, tube jigs, and flukes. Color did not really matter most of the time. In five full days of fishing not one Crappie was boated. We did manage, for the first time to boat three really nice rainbows that weighed from five to five and a half pounds on Oxbow. That was a first for us after 8 years of fishing up there. The only bad part of the trip was that we learned that Jim Looney, the guide at Brownlee Reservoir Charters was moving back to Florida. He has been a good friend and a valuable resource since our very first trip up there. We have enjoyed taking him out to his favorite lake to fish for Largemouth and learn a few things from an expert. This year the lake was on fire!! A very good way to say goodbye and good luck. We will continue to make our annual trip up there this time every year as our group keeps getting bigger as word gets out down here in Utah what a great place you have up there.
