Does any one know anything about fishing Kokanee on island park reservoir. I'm going up there and want to try to get some tips and a good location to catch the Kokanee.

Welcome to the site Kobuk, I'm going to move your post to our Idaho board, hopefully you will get an answer to your question there.

near the dam for sure- I suggest trolling around and getting to know the bottom/depths first before you put out your trolling gear. IP has some crazy depth changes where you wouldn't expect them

What time of year can you catch them?

Any time of the year . The warmer the water gets the deeper you will need to fish . They like 50 to 55 degree water temp .

When do the kokonee in island park res. spawn and could you catch them while they are spawning.[fishon]

Around September 1 .I have caught them when they are red and spauning . You have to make them mad .

What type of lures/ flies do you use to catch the spawning kokanee.

Spawning Kokanee will hit anything red.

My boss took the bottom out of his brand new boat by the dam last year hitting some kind of wall structure barely under surface so be careful in that area. I also have caught all my koks in the summer by the dam. I use bikinis, pearl white with rainbow dots, also have caught them on gold and red jakes.
