l Had to go to Id. to do it but finally did my bassing. Caught 18 in 3 hrs (1-4pm) on my reaper all between 11 & 13 in but fun. What was really good news, I was still able to do it with, hiking, the tube and fins even though I'm older than lava, and Sparky amazed me with his swimming around me, following me all the way across the res., twice with his blown disk and everything at 10 yrs.. I'm happier than expletive expletive,!!!!! [

Hooray. Sounds like fun. Nice to get your bass on! Had my first run at the bucket mouths this past weekend, though not nearly as many, though I did toy with at least that many bluegill also.
You didn't say where, so I'll leave it at that.
Ever thought about giving Sparky a life jacket? Just wonder if a float would help out the 'ol pup - could relax and just move about without having to work so hard.
Just a thought. Got one for my pup if I ever figured out a platform for the boat. Has a handle even - thought that would facilitate lifting her into the boat.
But your's is a better water breed me thinks.
I like reading your posts because I know we fish alot of the same areas up north. How were the water levels? I'm going to head up that way here in the coming weeks.

Good report! Glad to hear you had a good day.
I'm with Yote. I think you should look at getting Sparky a swim vest -- they help to keep them warm as well as afloat. I would hate to see him have more back problem from overdoing, or worse if he has a problem in the middle of the lake.
Something like this maybe:

Water level about normal, maybe a little low. Thanks guys and gal, I actually have a floatation vest. The rehab lady said that swimming is the best exercise possible for him. It didn't seem to tire him out at all. When we got home he took to running around wanting to play and isn't tired today. [

Swimming is a great exercise. That's good to hear that he is doing so well. He can still swim in the vest.
I guess I'm a little paranoid. A good friend's husband drowned in American Falls Res. when he swam out to rescue his dog that was struggling.

Yeah, it's a little low. There weren't really any rushes to speak of in the water this year. It made spawning areas a little trickier to find, but the fishing has still been very good up there.
