We put the boat in the water at 6:30 am and by 9:30 am we needed 4 keeper size Crappie to be limited out. The fish bite just stopped. We tried different colors of lures and different sizes of jigs. Nothing helped. The fish just got lock jaw.<br /><br />Around 10:00 am a change occurred (I do not know what?) The Crappie started to bite again. It took about 40 more minutes to finish getting both our limits. <br /><br />We fished in deep water (35&#39; fow). The keeper size fish were down from 15&#39; to just off the bottom. <br /><br />Archie favored the BGBS Opening Night with a tail light on 1/32 oz. I had more success with a BGBS Ghost with a dipped tail on 1/16 oz.<br /><br />We dead stick fished all morning off bluffs and deep water structure. The water temp. when we stopped fishing was 79*.<br /><br />I spanked Archie by catching not one, but two 13-1/2&quot; Crappie. Won the big fish bet!
