Took my nephew out to the island this morning in hopes of some good size cats. Fishing was pretty slow, we managed 5 channels and 8 or so mudders. The channels ranged from 18 to 25", so no hawgs but a few respectable ones. Only 4 rigs out there this morning and it didn't look like the others had much action as far as what I saw. I'm thinking maybe the colder temps overnight did not help, usually fishing for 5 or so hours out there would yield well into the 20 or more fish range. I'm guessing the reeds would have provided better action, but still a fun morning none the less.

Ditto your report.

We were there at daylight and had about the same results... just not much going on. We were there earlier this week before the big wind and caught 20+ channels. We were in the black and silver Tracker, northwest side of island. Will try again tomorrow.

Good luck to ya.

Hmm, I'm heading down tomorrow, but I hear it's supposed to be even colder tonight. Hopefully the cats are hungry in the morning.

I would guess the early bird theory will not be the case over the weekend. Didn't have any success until the sun had been up for about an hour. Good luck hope you find a few
