I have fished Oneida a few times now and caught some smallies but I'm not sure what A good size is for that lake. What are the big-uns like? And what are some good spots? Pm me if you don't want the world to know.

Well, they're not as big as the ones in The Snake River drainage, but I caught this one today. I taped her at 18".[inline "release 2 small.jpg"]

Thanks! She put up a really good fight, she didn't want to give up at all. I haven't gotten out as much as usual, but that fish was worth a few trips right there [

Thanks! That's not the norm for me there, usually I'm happy when I get fish over a foot. I typically get a good mix of fish in the 13-16" range and smaller dinks, maybe half and half. It seems to be getting better every year though. A couple of years ago I caught a 17, the next a 17.5, and this year an 18, and my friend caught a similar fish about a month ago. Lets hope it keeps going like that.

Oh what a beautiful fish!!! Getting into any eyes while chasing the smallies???

Thanks! I haven't caught any eyes this year. I've been fishing fairly shallow and during the middle of the day the couple of times I've been up there though.

Thanks! I told my wife that it was a pretty fish, and she told me fish can't be pretty. We'll just have to agree to disagree on that one [
