Hey,

Thinking of making a trip to Newton. Anybody know if the ramp is still useable? Is the lake wakeless now? Any Muskie being caught?

There was a pretty nice muskie caught not long ago on a fly rod, was on the front page of the Idaho state journal.

Thanks for the info. Might go tomorrow so hopefully the power squadron bafoons won't be too bad. What time do they typically show up?

I went last sat. Water was at the verry bottom of the ramp, which is all boken up, you have to launch around the side of it.

I was there last night and can confirm what Nerus said.

Ski boats were at it pretty much all evening.

When I worked swing and was hitting the muskie scene, they were often out stirring up by 10 on the weekdays. Trouble is, that pond is so small it only takes one of them to foul it up.

Depends on what you're launching I'd say.

Water is down, might still be touching the ramp, but I'm betting we're on to launching around the ramp, or off the west side.

I know my wakeboard buddies told me I could have it back now, they're done.

it's never wakeless, though IMHO - it should always be, and it's a crime it's not. That lake is just too narrow for high speed boaters (especially the ones that don't have a CLUE what regs are) - sorry, venting.

I meant to head that way this morning, maybe I'll actually get up and go early tomorrow (BEFORE it gets HOT!)
