When you get old and stubborn, ya think you "I know best". My mistake - 1) You think your dog can swim forever with no problems, that you observe. 2) Lack of acceptance of past injuries and AGE of the dog. He's invincible!!!! 3) Stubborness and stupidity to use common sense.
So what happened? First, my wife has been harassing me about using a vest for Sparky for years. "What do wives know"? Bad, bad move. Then, besides you guys, I got really chewed out by my vet and rehab person!!!!!!!! What really took hold was, what if he's out there swimming and he "slips a disk" like before. He'd sink like a stone and you probably would never find him again"!!!! [frown][frown] Don't you care about him?
Well, since he's my best bud I felt shammed. [frown][frown] I keep his vest in the truck to use where ever we go now!!!!!
A big, big thanks!!

Good deal!! [inline econ_applause.gif]

I am very glad to hear that. Good for both Sparky and you. As I said, I have a good friend who lost her husband because he swam out to save his dog. The vest will allow Sparky to get the exercise, but maybe not over do or have a problem. I think he will enjoy being with you in the water even more.

Never meant any offense, or to deride. Just impressed that Leaky has such staying power. That's a hearty breed right there!

good for you both I'd say. Now watch Sparky learn the Backstroke! And on the plus side - if YOU get tired, bet you could latch a line, and get a tow back to shore!

Now you make me wanna get a shot of my pooch in her vest! That's good bright color too!

Cheers, and happy adventuring to you both.
